The Cave Man By Xiaoda Xiao. Recommended by Bruce Rutledge

The Cave Man By Xiaoda Xiao

Published December 2009 by Two Dollar Radio

ISBN: 978-0-9820153-3-1

The Recommend:

A chilling portrayal of life in Mao’s prison camps.

But perhaps most disturbing is protagonist Ja Feng’s long struggle to assimilate into mainstream society after being released.

With each defeat, he retreats to a place resembling the cave of his solitary confinement.

This book lingers in your mind.

Bruce Rutledge is the founder of Chin Music Press in Seattle.

(It should be noted that Bruce is also a Cleveland Indians fan.

So far as we know there is no explanation for this anomaly, though Sean looks forward to catching a few Mariners games with Bruce in the summer of 2010.)

One Response to The Cave Man By Xiaoda Xiao. Recommended by Bruce Rutledge

  1. Bruce says:

Yes, it’s true. I’m a Cleveland Indians fan. It’s a lifelong affliction, I’m afraid. Ever since Pete Rose cleaned Ray Fosse’s clock in the 1970 All Star Game, I’ve been damaged goods. But there’s one upside to being a Tribe fan: We can all drink beer like Sam McDowell.
