The Ascent of Money by Niall Ferguson. Recommended by Ingrid Paulson

The Ascent of Money by Niall Ferguson

Published October 2009 by Penguin Paperbacks

ISBN: 978-0143116172

The Recommend:

Who knew that the word ‘bank’ came from ‘table’ (as in a moneylender’s table)?

Or that a Scot caused the first financial bubble – in France?

I’m a sucker for history books, and have a fascination with economics, so this book was manna.

And Niall Ferguson made the bond market sound sexy.

About Ingrid Paulson

*

Ingrid Paulson (@ingridpaulson) is a book designer and artist based out of Toronto.

She had teenage dreams of becoming a theoretical economist, but her grade 12 economics teacher persuaded her that visuals were in her future.

Perhaps it was the constant doodling on her term papers.

For someone known for her fiction covers, she reads an awful lot of non-fiction.
