American Salvage by Bonnie Jo Campbell. Recommended Dina Del Bucchia

American Salvage by Bonnie Jo Campbell

Published: April 2009, Wayne State University Press

ISBN: 978-0814334126

The Recommend:

Rough, amusing and devastating stories.

And by rough, I mean these rural characters, original yet familiar, struggling to salvage themselves, and not Campbell’s writing, which is refined and accurate and wonderful.

About Dina Del Bucchia

*

Dina Del Bucchia sometimes works at Duthie Books and other times writes stuff.

Her work has appeared in some journals, like Matrix, and will appear in others, Event for instance.

A recent UBC MFA graduate she is working on her first novel.

Over the years she has hosted events and readings and has facilitated writing workshops for teens. Don’t underestimate them.

(The workshops or the teens?  -Abe.)

She did not win the Mad Men contest, but probably spends as much time watching television as she does reading, and thinks it’s for the best.
